The Knotty Ladies are moving to the YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly conference center August 30 - September 1 for the 7th annual Yarn & Fiber Retreat Weekend.  The Conference Center there is perfect for sharing time knitting, spinning, weaving, felting, crocheting and other crafty pursuits with like-minded adult (age 13 and up, please) fiber friends. It has really nice hotel-style rooms with 2 queen beds each, a large dining room, conference and classrooms all in one beautiful handicapped accessible building.   The vendors are all local fiber producers, or purveyors of fine tools and toys for the discriminating crafter.

Flat rate includes all three meals on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday.  Dietary restrictions can be accommodated; just let me know ahead of time so I can pass it on to the facility. Friday meals are on your own.  There are a lot of great restaurants in the nearby town of Black Mountain, along with the fantastic Black Mountain Yarn Shop. Trust me, you'll want to check it out.  As always, Mini-Clinics will be offered for additional fees and announced once finalized

$175 per person, double occupancy
$275 per person, single occupancy
$340 per couple, spouse/significant other joining for meals only
$50 1 day commuter/day-tripper (includes meals)
$60 multi-day commuter/day-tripper

Attendees can pay in full at the time of registration or reserve their spot with a non-refundable $25 deposit. All reservations must be paid in full by July 31.  We will open up an additional registration session after that if space is available. I will be putting up the Eventbrite registration site for deposits and fees as soon as possible.  I'd like to get all the Mini-Clinics finalized at the same time but might have to settle for just registration first if it looks like life is getting away from me.

By August 7th, I'll need to know who you are sharing a room with, or if you are rooming alone, so I can get an accurate room count to the facility. I'll keep a list of people who would like to share a room and need a buddy.  If you want to come down a day early, or stay a day late, you will be able to make arrangements with the conference center office directly.

Mini-Clinics will be throughout the day Saturday, are typically between 30 and 60 minutes and cost $5-$10 plus materials if needed, to cover the rental of the facility. The instructors graciously donate their time. I’m solidifying plans and collecting ideas. Right now we have a commitment to offer Darning for Knitted Fabric (it's not just for socks, you know) and I *think* we'll have a return of the most-popular-class-ever, Yoga for Crafters, along with Mini Triangle Loom Weaving. If you have any ideas of topics you’d like to teach or want to learn, please let me know.

The confirmed vendors for 2019 include Only the Finest, Nuttle Fiber Art and Design, The Yarn Asylum and Cabin Crafted.  Please contact me at if you are interested in being a vendor.  We have a few spaces left.

We play the "Knotty or Knice" game on Saturday afternoon - you know the one - bring a knitting/crochet/fiber-related gift ($20 range) and spend the next 45 minutes trying to take what you want away from your friends!

We have a Free Swap table set up. You are welcome to bring anything related to fiber arts or crafts that you no longer need or want, so that another crafter can adopt it and use it.

Door Prizes from our fabulous vendors are always a big hit.

We look forward to seeing you in August!
