DATES AND VENUE:

The Knotty Ladies (and gentlemen) are returning to the YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly conference center August 6-19 for the 13th annual Yarn, Fiber and Art Retreat Weekend.  This beautiful facility is perfect for sharing time knitting, spinning, weaving, felting, crocheting, sewing and other art or craft pursuits with similarly makey-friends. This year, we will be in newly renovated Weatherford Hall, with single rooms, access to refrigerators, two classrooms and two large rooms to set up your playspace.

RATES:

Flat rate includes all three meals on Friday and Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday.  Dietary restrictions can be accommodated; just let me know ahead of time so I can pass it on to the facility. Thursday meals are on your own.  There are a lot of great restaurants in the nearby town of Black Mountain, along with the fantastic Black Mountain Yarn Shop. Trust me, you'll want to check them out.

$20 retreat fee for overnight guests
$360 per person, single occupancy only
$85 commuter/day-tripper (includes meals)
$80 early arrival on Wednesday

REGISTRATION:

Will be via Eventbrite, with PayPal as the payment method. There will be both email and Facebook announcements when Registration is open.

Refunds:

We are committed to paying for 20 rooms. The retreat fee part of your registration is refundable, however due to contractual obligations with the YMCA the room cost is not. If 20+ rooms are booked, refunds can be handled on a case by case basis.

MINI-CLINICs/Classes:

Mini-Clinics and will be throughout the weekend, are between 30 minutes and 3 hours, and usually cost $5-$20. The instructors graciously donate their time. At this time we are still fleshing out the schedule, and the registration for mini-clinics will be released in the next few weeks. So far we have planned crochet granny squares, small peg loom weaving and felted landscapes.

vendors:

2026 Vendors are being finalized now. Debbie Martzall from Hearts of the Meadow will be there with roving, jams and jellies. I think the likelihood of a spoon vendor is pretty high at this point.

EXTRAS:

We play the "Knotty or Knice" game on Saturday afternoon - you know the one - bring an art or fiber-related gift ($20-$25 range) and spend the next 45 minutes trying to take what you want away from your friends!

We have a Free Swap table set up. You are welcome to bring anything related to art, fiber or crafts that you no longer need or want, so that another artist or crafter can adopt it and use it. Anything left over at the end of the weekend will be donated or discarded.

Door Prizes from our fabulous vendors and participants are always a big hit.

We look forward to seeing you in August!
